Léon Joubert (1851-1928) studied under the French landscape painter Léon Pelouse. His work was also influenced by the Barbizon artists, particularly Corot. He exhibited regularly at the Sociétaire des Artistes Français and at the Exposition Universalle of 1889 and 1900. His work is held in the Musée d’Orsay, Montpellier, Montreal and Saint-Brieuc.
