Honoré Camos (1906-1991) was born in Vallauris in the South of France and was a painter, ceramacist and an actor on the stage. He was friends with Picasso who he first met in the 1920s. He lived in Sweden for a while before returning to France and settling in Bargemon in the Var, where a museum is dedicated to him.

"A Landscape in Provence", presented as a wedding present by the artist in 1982.
