Charles Austin Needham (1844-1923) was born in Buffalo, New York and lived in New York City. He studied with August Will in Buffalo and at the Art Students League of New York. He exhibited at the National Academy of Design , the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and internationally, including at the 1900 Exposition Universalle in Paris where he won a bronze medal.
